GRATITUDE

On Monday, January 14, 2013 I was forced out of the business I had founded and developed over the last 4 1/2 years. The details of which will remain undisclosed; but at the risk of sounding a little like a baby, I will say it was a reminder of the insignificance of verbal contracts and minority positions in business. My feelings at the time included disbelief at the timing, shock at the harshness, and anger at the nonchalance. In the past I would have acted out openly, harshly and without constraint; but this time I chose to behave, to take the high road, and move on proudly and professionally.

God gives us all choices. Gratitude is one such choice. It’s an attitude adjuster. It creates good vibes and good things and I am choosing to be grateful about my new found independence. In the past I’ve practiced Gratitude Streaming (a technique learned years ago from Mary Kay Mueller) to put myself in a better mood, and better yet to help improve others’ moods. Gratitude is a powerful emotion that overcomes negativity, gives hope and peace.

I am grateful that my ex-partners agreed to invest in the business in September 2012 at a time when I was in a position that may have required me to shut it down. I am grateful that my team was able to keep their positions with the new company and continue to pursue their dreams. I am grateful our client work never suffered and continues under the strategies and plans we created together. I am grateful for the relationships I maintained with my team and my clients. These relationships mean more to me than any monetary gain or loss associated with business. I am grateful for the new opportunities that I am now able to pursue.

I am grateful, but at times still angry.

#ANGERGY

I mentioned Mary Kay Mueller above with respect to Gratitude Streaming. I also recall a presentation she gave to my company that included the concept of #Angergy. She explained that anger is an emotion that is healthy. It’s an emotion that we often misunderstand and try to hide from or conceal from others, but it is healthy to have anger. She went further to explain her concept of dealing with anger productively as #Angergy. This is when you use the powerful feelings that come from your anger and channel it into good areas of focus. Use the anger as energy to fuel your next project, your passion for something else, your drive for future successes. I’ve chosen to channel my anger over the events that took place as energy to continue my passion for making a positive difference in other people’s lives. That is what excites me and has always driven me in my entrepreneurial ventures.

I will be rolling out several new concepts over the coming months as Frost Media Group. Each designed to simplify an area of expertise I have developed over the last 4 1/2 years so that more people can take advantage of the knowledge and make a difference in their own way. Whether you’re an individual interested in New Media, Video Production or Strategic Planning, a nonprofit looking for more exposure, advocacy or impact, or a business seeking higher returns from your marketing efforts – there will be something for you.

I will be releasing a cooperative Local SEO service, a perfected Custom Website process, an affordable Hosting service, a Big Branding solution, performance based New Media outsourcing, facilitated Strategic Planning, a word class Video Production company, and of course my new book New Media Habits. Sounds like a lot, but it’s really just perfecting the last 4 1/2 years into niche solutions that are rationally priced, performance based, and making a difference and not just a profit.

DINGOS

I will close with some humor. I woke up the other day sulking a little about not being able to market myself as V180 Media or KreativElement. I was angry that the energy spent over the last 4 months rebranding was wasted on me. And for some reason I thought of the Australian story and movie about the woman who lost her baby (supposedly to dingos). I want to be careful here and state that losing your business is no where near as traumatic as losing a child. It’s the analogy (or metaphor, I always get those 2 mixed up) about entrepreneurs thinking of their businesses like babies that I am going for here.

I posted the quote about “the dingo stole my baby” on Twitter and Facebook and someone chimed in with this video that made me laugh out loud and made my day.

Enjoy, and keep your baby away from the dingos!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

V180 Media is Now KreativElement

OMAHA, NE – October 8, 2012 - V180 Media has changed its name to KreativElement and is under the new ownership of John Wanninger and James Duran.

John and James are local and well respected entrepreneurs that are investing in and supporting the team and our mission to help nonprofits and entrepreneurs share their stories. Both are very excited to be part of our team and continue to support the good work we are doing. John and James are clients, friends, and strong business leaders in this community. As the founder of the company, Joe Frost will continue to work in and with the team and continue forth as the director of strategy (aka chief iDea guy). This means for us a new name but the same great team and service will remain. The growth of V180 Media through the past several years has created a need to re-brand our company to align fully with the services we provide.

Immediate steps to launch the new brand will include the introduction of a new company logo, followed by an updated website and overall online presence. The recent acquisition of V180 Media brings with it many great upsides for our team but most of all for those we serve. The expertise that our new owners bring in the area of marketing, sales, branding, small business development and growth strategies will allow us to expand our service offerings to our valued clients.

###

A personal note from Joe Frost:

I wanted to address some news you may have heard about me and the sale of V180 Media. Please contact me directly if you would like any further information.

A real estate project I was involved with in 2007 has been in the news recently. I was a partner in this condominium project and performed my duties in accordance with the agreement, then exited the partnership less than a year later. Sometime after I left the remaining partners began litigation against each other. I have not been involved in the civil lawsuits. Recently charges have been initiated by disgruntled investors surrounding the condominium project because it could not be completed. The charges against me are unfounded and I am vigorously defending myself and expect a favorable resolution with dismissal of all charges.

These allegations have led me to make a decision that I feel was best for my company, my team, my clients, and most importantly my family. I have decided to sell V180 Media to a couple of local and well respected entreprenuers that are investing in and supporting our team and our mission to help nonprofits and entrepreneurs share their stories. John Wanninger and James Duran are very excited to be part of our team and continue to support the good work we are doing. John and James are clients, friends, and strong business leaders in this community. As the founder of the company, I will continue to work in and with the team and continue forth as the director of strategy (aka chief iDea guy).

The recent acquisition of V180 Media brings with it many great upsides for our team but most of all for those we serve. The expertise that our new owners bring in the area of marketing, sales, branding, small business development and growth strategies will allow us to expand our service offerings to our valued clients. The growth of V180 Media through the past several years combined with the recent activity has created a need to re-brand our company to align fully with the services we provide. This means for us a new name but the same great team and service will remain. We will be updating you, our valued clients very soon on our rebranding.

Once again, please contact me if you would like further information. You are welcome to share this information as you deem necessary.

Sincerely,

Joseph Frost
