Set up a Facebook Business Page
You may already have a Facebook page for yourself, and you’ve been using it both for personal and professional activities. If so, you’re hampering its effectiveness.
Think of it this way. Say your friends invited you over for a tailgate party, and when you show up, you’re in a suit. One minute you’re high-fiving the guys and the next you’re passing out business cards. Talk about mixed messages! Your friends don’t want to be sold, they want to hang out and share common interests.
When you try to conduct business on your Facebook profile, often your friends’ response is the same.
How do you know if you have a Facebook profile or a Facebook business page? If you have to request that people be your “friend,” your page is a personal profile page. There are so many more advantages to setting your business or professional persona up on a Facebook business page. Anyone can become your fan by clicking on a “like” button and you don’t have to approve them. You also have access to Facebook Analytics that keep track of how people are interacting on your page, which you don’t have with a personal profile page.
